A few hours after Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day in Minnesota, I am once again focusing on the MLS for Thursday’s column, highlighting another goal-centric selection featuring one of the most in-form teams.

The resurgent LA Galaxy host the poorly traveling Austin FC at Dignity Health Sports Park early Thursday morning. I’m eager to back the reigning MLS Cup champions to score at least two goals.
The Galaxy had a dreadful start to the season, with no wins in their first 16 MLS matches (W0-D4-L12), leaving them at the bottom of the Western Conference.
However, Greg Vanney’s squad has shown improvement recently, losing just once in their last six games (W3-D2-L1), including three consecutive home victories, the latest being against DC United last weekend.
Austin began their MLS campaign strong, winning five of their first nine matches (W5-D1-L3), including a 1-0 home win against the Galaxy in mid-April.
Since then, Los Verdes have won only two of their next 12 MLS matches (W2-D5-L5), struggling particularly away from home with just four points from seven away games (W1-D1-L5).

Greg Vanney’s team has scored 24 goals in their first 22 MLS matches this season, with 13 (54%) coming at home.
The Galaxy have failed to score in only one of their last eight home MLS games, scoring multiple goals in five of their previous six matches (2-4, 2-2, 0-1, 2-0, 3-0 & 2-1), and I’m backing them to be too strong for an Austin side that has lost five of their last seven away matches, conceding multiple goals in each loss.
Moreover, the Galaxy have won all four previous meetings with Austin FC at Dignity Health Sports Park, scoring multiple goals in each victory (2-0, 4-1, 2-0 & 2-1), and I’m backing that trend to continue on Thursday.
