Friends,
Some days are harder to process than others. Yesterday was one of those days.
The shocking killing of Charlie Kirk—a public figure, husband, and father—reminds us that our world can change in an instant. And today, we are reminded of the tens of thousands of victims and millions of others touched by 9/11. These moments pull us out of our daily routines, even out of the industries we work in, and force us to reflect on what matters most.
My message is simple: live a consequential life. Love life. Find joy. Speak your mind and speak freely. Debate. Listen. Respect differences. Challenge the status quo. Have courage in difficult times. Stay vigilant. And above all, be kind.
We cannot afford to be numb. We cannot let violence or tragedy define our future. Instead, we must rise to the occasion, rededicate ourselves to making a difference in our families, communities, and professions.
In our industry, we often talk about innovation, regulation, and market trends. But behind every deal, every policy, and every new technology are people—real people whose lives are shaped by the world around us. It is in these moments that we’re reminded: leadership is not only about business outcomes but about human outcomes.
So today, I encourage you to pause. Reflect. Reach out to someone who matters. And recommit to doing good, wherever you stand.
RIP Charlie Kirk—you were the best of America. My prayers are with your family.
Let us all honor that example by being brave, being joyful, and making our lives consequential.

Updates on the Case Sept 11 – 730AM PST
Authorities continue to search for the suspect responsible for the shooting at Utah Valley University that claimed the life of Charlie Kirk. According to the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office, the firearm believed to have been used was recovered from a nearby rooftop, and investigators have obtained strong video evidence of the shooter.
Officials describe the suspect as male and of apparent college age, noting that he blended into the campus environment. While authorities believe the attack was targeted and the wider community is not at risk, the manhunt remains active, with every available resource deployed.
Utah’s Department of Public Safety Commissioner confirmed that Kirk’s family is “devastated” following direct communication with his widow, and both state and federal officials have emphasized their commitment to ensuring justice. Political leaders from across the spectrum have condemned the killing, underscoring the urgent need to reaffirm respect for nonviolent disagreement in a polarized time.
