SCCG Take — The coordinated use of stolen vehicles, heavy weapons and rapid execution in this Illinois burglary wave shows persistent physical security gaps at suburban gaming locations that require tighter law enforcement coordination.

Four Chicago men face multiple felony charges after smashing into a suburban gambling cafe, stealing cash from video gaming machines and leading police on a high-speed chase.

The raid occurred at approximately 4:32 a.m. on Oct. 29 at Maria’s Gaming Cafe in Addison, Illinois. Keonte Adams, 20, Dajuan Johnson, 24, Kyronte McCondichie, 20, and Daryl Nesbit, 19, allegedly used sledgehammers and a crowbar to force entry. They caused more than $100,000 in damage during a two-minute operation and fled with $13,847.

Addison police and DuPage County agencies had been conducting surveillance in response to a wave of burglaries at gambling businesses across the Chicago area. Officers observed the group traveling in two stolen vehicles: a black Dodge Durango and a white BMW. The cafe had already been burglarized once since May.

High-Speed Chase Through Western Suburbs

The escape unraveled when the BMW struck police spike strips. Its three occupants abandoned the vehicle and joined others in the Durango, which then carried eight people. Police pursued the SUV at speeds over 100 mph through several western Chicago suburbs before disabling it with additional spike strips near Interstate 290 in Bellwood.

The four men fled on foot across the expressway. A coordinated search using police dogs, drones and officers from multiple departments led to their arrests. Investigators recovered two Glock handguns—one fitted with an automatic-fire conversion device—a loaded Zastava AK-style rifle from the Durango, plus two additional firearms and burglary tools from the BMW.

Charges and Pending Court Date

As reported by Casino.org, Adams, Johnson, McCondichie and Nesbit were charged on Oct. 30 with armed violence, burglary, possession of stolen vehicles and aggravated fleeing and eluding. A DuPage County judge ordered the four defendants detained pending trial. They are scheduled to appear in court again on November 23. It is unclear whether remaining members of the group have been detained.
