SCCG Take — Compressed hold during peak NFL weeks exposes pricing vulnerability in mature markets. Operators must refine models to stabilize margins when volume surges on favored outcomes.

Gross gaming revenue fell 17.7% to $159.4 million and the hold rate dropped to 6.6% from 8.5%, according to InGame. This marks the lowest September hold since mobile betting launched in January 2022. The state collected $81.3 million in tax receipts.

Volume Drivers and Margin Pressure

The return of football boosted action across operators. Bettors wagered more but sportsbooks retained less of the handle. Six of the eight operators posted year-over-year revenue declines despite mixed handle results. Cumulative mobile handle in the state now stands at $103.8 billion.
