What AI Actually Does in a Casino Today

G2E opens in Las Vegas on Monday and artificial intelligence will be on every stand. Here is where it is already working, in plain terms, at properties you can name.

G2E opens in Las Vegas on Monday. This year it has a new zone for artificial intelligence. One of Tuesday’s panels is called “Beyond the Hype: Artificial Intelligence in Tribal Casino Operations.”

That title asks the right question. As someone who has spent more than three decades in this business, I hear it from client-partners every week. What does this actually do for me?

Last week I argued that the value this year sits in the unglamorous middle of the business, not in the product demonstration. At real properties, today, AI is doing three jobs. It watches the tables and the paperwork. It tells your people where to spend their time. And it looks after the player.

One. It watches the tables and the paperwork

In February 2025, Angel Group confirmed it had finished fitting its smart table system to every mass-market baccarat table at Sands China’s casinos in Macau. That is more than 1,100 tables. Each chip carries a radio tag and AI reads the table, so the system knows every chip in play, its value and where it sits.

Compliance is the same story. Chumash Casino Resort in California and FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Michigan run their anti-money-laundering work on Kinectify, a platform built for gaming. Kinectify says its AI now pulls the records together and drafts the summary. A trained investigator reviews it and signs. Its chief executive, Joseph Martin, puts the split at about 95 percent information handling and 5 percent decision. The machine takes the 95.

Two. It tells your people where to spend their time

Start with the host. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain announced yesterday that it is expanding its use of QCI for its hosts and marketers, including a tool that answers questions about player data asked in plain English. Tulalip Resort Casino in Washington expanded QCI for its hosts and marketers in April. The host starts the day knowing who to call.

Then the slot floor. At Silver Reef Casino Resort, owned by the Lummi Nation, the slot team uses Gaming Analytics to find underperforming machines and act on live numbers. “We no longer wait for delayed reports,” said Wayne Moenoa, its director of slots. Aristocrat bought Gaming Analytics in February.

Then the hotel. Cache Creek Casino Resort in California prices its rooms with Duetto, which weighs what a guest is worth on the gaming floor as well as in the room.

And the sportsbook. Sportradar’s Alpha Odds sets prices to each book’s own risk. Sportradar reported that it lifted operator profit by an average of 15 percent across the Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

Three. It looks after the player

Mindway AI’s GameScanner reads betting patterns and flags a player whose play is changing, early enough to reach out. Entain uses it, as do ZEAL in Germany and PrizePicks in the United States. Mindway says Gaming Laboratories International, the testing lab, confirmed it catches at least 87 percent of the cases human experts catch. It also says why each player was flagged, which is what a regulator will ask.

Superbet, the Romanian operator, put an AI agent called iRina on its live chat. Its software provider, Zendesk, reports that iRina handles 37 percent of chats with no person involved, and that first response times fell 74 percent.

Where that leaves us

The same three jobs. Watching the tables and the paperwork. Pointing your people at the right guest, machine and price. Looking after the player. None of it is a demonstration. All of it is live.

Every one has something in common. The machine does the assembly. A person still owns the call. The host picks up the phone. The investigator signs the filing. As Martin put it, “AI agents perform the work, not the judgment.”

It’s definitely a tool that is useful. The question is the best use of that tool, and the answer is already on the floor. It doesn’t replace your own instincts or judgment. There needs to be a boundary, and the operators getting value have drawn one.

If you are walking G2E next week and asking which of these belongs in your operation, that is a conversation we have with client-partners every week. Let’s set up a call.
