With Mount Athos looking vulnerable off top-weight, the vote goes to WITCH HUNTER. The seven-year-old is 4lb higher than when scoring at Newcastle in September, but he ran really well when third over C&D last time out off this mark and remains well handicapped on last year’s form. POPMASTER has lots of smart form off higher marks and is another to strongly consider.

RAJINOORA shaped well back from a break when second at Chelmsford and is only 2lb higher with that run under her belt. She has plenty more to come and Oisin Murphy will take the ride. I think she’s the biggest danger to the hat-trick seeking FORESEEN, who must be included.

The extremely consistent SAX APPEAL was a very good winner at Southwell last time out and is selected to register another success. He has to shoulder a penalty but should prove difficult to beat.
