MGM Resorts International released news on Tuesday, recapping some of its ongoing responsible gambling efforts, with the company confirming that as many as 2,000 employees – and growing – are now deemed to be capable of aiding people experiencing gambling-related harm and, far more importantly, offering their insight to the company as a whole, allowing it to better protect consumers.
Company’s RG Training Sessions and Efforts Continue
The thousands of qualified advisors work across 30 departments, and they include frontline and executives in MGM Resorts. Under GameSense, the company has been actively training its employees to equip them with the tools necessary to detect and intervene in instances of harm.
MGM Resorts International firmly believes that the program has been paying off, and it’s a good industry standard to set and pursue. MGM Resorts SVP & Chief Compliance Officer Stephen Martino said:
“Our investment in GameSense ensures an approach where responsibility is woven into the heart of the MGM Resorts brand. With GameSense at the center, we’re empowering employees to play an important role in promoting responsible gaming awareness and enjoyable experiences for our guests.”
GameSense is a big pillar of MGM Resorts International’s efforts to be a champion of responsible gambling in theory as well as in practice. The company teamed up with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, which developed the program, to spearhead a more responsible gambling environment.
To achieve this, MGM Resorts has long concluded that this would only be possible if its own members of staff – from gaming floor employees, to mid-level managers, to its executives – are aware of what the company is trying to achieve.
MGM Maintains Commitment towards Tackling Gambling-Related Issues
Besides GameSense and the trained advisors, MGM Resorts also teamed up with BetBlocker, an anonymous tool used to restrict one’s gambling activity and address ongoing struggles with gambling-related behavior.
“We’re committed to a culture of responsibility that turns every interaction into an opportunity to build trust and provide a level of hospitality that truly matters”, confirmed MGM Resorts executive director of responsible gaming, Garrett Farness.
