The 2025 ATP Finals will begin on Sunday, 9 November as the best eight men’s tennis players in the world descend on Turin for the season finale.
On the eve of the tournament, Novak Djokovic pulled out due to a shoulder injury sustained during his historic tournament win in Athens.
The 38-year-old’s replacement is the man he defeated in the final in Athens on Sunday, Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian has had the best season of his career to date and will be a popular addition to the tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz to win the tournament (2/1)
The general consensus coming into the event is that only two men can win it – Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
While Sinner has more form to speak of in recent events, particularly on indoor hard courts, Alcaraz does have the psychological edge in the H2H between the two players in big matches.
It may seem ludicrous to be pointing to that already considering the pair can’t meet until the final, but the gulf in quality between the world’s two best players and the rest of the field is vast.
Carlos Alcaraz 2-0 Alex De Minaur (5/6)
Kicking things off in Turin is a match between Alcaraz and Australia’s Alex De Minaur.
This should be a straightforward victory for the Spaniard, as although De Minaur has talent, he doesn’t have the game to take on the very best players.
In four previous meetings, Alcaraz has come out on top in each one and he was two of the last three in straight sets. A man for the big occasion, Alcaraz should hit top gear and cruise to a win here.
Alexander Zverev 2-0 Ben Shelton (13/8)
The second singles match to take place on day one is Ben Shelton vs Alexander Zverev.
The two players have had contrasting seasons on the whole. While Zverev’s stock has fallen, Shelton’s has risen and there is genuine belief that the American can get close to Sinner and Alcaraz in the next season or two.
However, for now, Zverev is still the superior player and his style of play has worked perfectly against Shelton in previous meetings.
Across their three meetings this season, the German has come out on top in straight sets on each occasion. What’s more, he has found some form on the indoor hard courts in the build up the ATP finals, beating everyone he faced not named Jannik Sinner in both Paris and Vienna.
The same can’t be said for Shelton, who has only won three matches since retiring from the US Open in August.
