Egypt and Iran have requested FIFA to stop an LGBTQ+ Pride event planned during their World Cup group stage match in Seattle in 2026. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Tuesday that it had formally asked FIFA to block any Pride-related activities during their game against Iran next June, citing a conflict with their values. Iran has also expressed concerns about the planned celebration by a local Seattle group.
