Man City will be backing up following the EFL Cup home fixture against Brentford in midweek, but I will back them regardless. City have won seven consecutive league home games as well as nine consecutive home league home games against West Ham. Both home and away, City have won six in a row against the Hammers.

In addition to the above, City’s last seven games went over 2.5 goals, their last five games against West Ham went over 2.5 and their last five home games against the Hammers went over 2.5.

Bournemouth vs. Burnley |

Bournemouth are winless in seven games, but they have shown promise of getting back to their hot early season form by securing respectable draws against Chelsea and Man Utd. This bet is primarily against Burnley, however. The Clarets have gone 1-0-7 away from home this season. Both home and away, Burnley have lost seven consecutive games coming into this clash.
Over 2.5 goals at 1.73 (bet365)
All eight of Burnley’s away games this season went over 2.5 goals. Bournemouth enter this game on the back of a 4-4 draw. Eight of the last ten league meetings between the two sides went over 2.5 goals.

Tottenham vs. Liverpool |

Tottenham have gone 0-2-6 as the home underdog over the last twelve months. In recent years, they have gone 1-1-6 as the home underdog against Liverpool. After a horror October and November, Liverpool have shown signs of getting their season back on track. They enjoyed wins to nil over Inter Milan and Brighton last week.

Crystal Palace boast the best away record in the league (5-1-2) and they continue to do well on the xG front, but the Eagles have been fatigued by their horrific fixture schedule. They are the only English club that will be involved in European football in midweek. That game is on a Thursday night, so they face just a 48-hour turnaround for this fixture. This game was originally scheduled for the 21st, but was moved forward one day due to Palace’s EFL Cup fixture against Arsenal on the 23rd. Crystal Palace’s already small squad isn’t helped by the injury to Munoz and the AFCON involvement for Sarr. Palace have yet to win a game on the back of a midweek UEFA Conference League game. Elland Road has proven to be a difficult place to visit this season. Leeds boast a 3-3-2 record at home. Their most recent home games saw them beat Chelsea and draw Liverpool. Leeds are unbeaten in three games coming into this fixture. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in four consecutive games and the side has improved since Daniel Farke switched to play with a 3-5-2 formation earlier in December.

I am a bit wary, given Aston Villa have a poor record against Man Utd, but I can’t overlook their red-hot form. Villa have won 15 of their past 17 games in all competitions. They boast a 10-4-1 home record over the last twelve months. Villa put in a jaded performance against West Ham last weekend, but that was on the back of a midweek away win over Basel in the Europa League. Aston Villa have the luxury of no midweek game prior to this clash.
