The SBC Summit Rio 2025 took place between the 25th and 27th of February, at Riocentro, bringing together big names in national and international iGaming. Among the highlights of the event was Stephen Crystal, founder and CEO of SCCG Management, a global industry legend, who shared his expectations for the newly regulated Brazilian market.

Crystal expressed enthusiasm about the event and the opportunity to experience Carnival in Brazil. “I’m a Las Vegas guy and I love the energy of Brazil. This year, I’m going to experience Carnival, so this might be the highlight of my trip this time,” he said.

He also highlighted the growth of SBC Rio: “The event is incredible and has improved compared to last year. Now we have a suitable location. People are excited because igaming and sports betting have started in Brazil. The brands were integrated”, he pointed out.

Expectations for the Brazilian market

When analyzing this new phase of the sector in the country, Crystal emphasized the advancement of operations and the consolidation of the market. “Technology is working, regulations are being refined and business is happening,” he noted.

Asked about SCCG Management’s plans for Brazil, he reinforced the country’s importance in the company’s global strategy. “We are always on the move globally, and Brazil is very important to us. We have a local team in both Rio and São Paulo”, he explained.
