The cyberattack did not compromise confidential information.
SCCG Take — Tribal gaming entities should treat this as a benchmark for rapid cyber response to safeguard post-expansion revenue streams and guest continuity.
The Oneida Indian Nation's Turning Stone Resort Casino and related businesses are gradually restoring operations after a cyberattack on November 2 disrupted computer systems, payment services, ATMs, and telephone lines.
Affected properties including SavOn gas stations and Maple Leaf Markets operated on cash-only for several days. The Nation confirmed the incident did not compromise confidential information and has not identified those responsible. It brought in external phones to restore call handling at the resort and Oneida Indian Nation Health Center.
According to reporting by Yogonet International, Turning Stone announced on Thursday that it had resumed accepting credit cards for food and beverage purchases. Guests could once again earn loyalty points across all properties. TS Sports, the group's sportsbook and betting lounge, and bingo operations were set to resume at 4 p.m. Thursday.
In a social media video, a Turning Stone employee said: “It’s been an interesting few days. We’ve had some unexpected technology challenges, but we’re happy to tell you that we’re back. Our systems are coming back online, and we’re ready to welcome you.”
Turning Stone Enterprises oversees casinos, The Cove at Sylvan Beach, the Verona Collective cannabis operation, Oneida Technical Solutions, and other ventures. The organization employs more than 5,000 people and is the largest employer in Oneida and Madison counties.
The recovery follows a $400 million expansion completed earlier this summer. That project added a new luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, and additional conference space, making Turning Stone the largest meetings and conventions resort in New York State.
The speed of this phased restart after the cyberattack positions the Nation to limit further revenue impact from the outage.
