SCCG Take — Wynn maintains capital commitment and timeline for the UAE project despite revenue headwinds elsewhere. The 2027 opening will test demand in a new jurisdiction.
Wynn Resorts contributed $62.2m of cash to the 40 per cent-owned joint venture constructing Wynn Al Marjan Island during the third quarter. This takes the company's life-to-date contributions to $1.12bn. The integrated resort is expected to open in September 2027.
Craig Billings, Wynn Resorts CEO, said construction continues to move quickly with finishing work underway throughout the property, including the fit-out of all guestrooms. Preopening hiring and operations planning are advancing well, and the company remains on schedule for a September 2027 opening.
Billings acknowledged uncertainty in the region but affirmed the UAE's resilience and adaptability. He stated that Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the most exciting integrated resort opening globally in over a decade and that the future remains bright.
The investment news came as Wynn reported an 80 per cent fall in third-quarter revenue in what Billings called a complicated quarter with more headwinds than tailwinds. This update, according to reporting by G3 Newswire, arrives alongside detailed segment results.
Las Vegas Operations generated $575.2m, a decrease of $45.8m from $621m in the third quarter of 2025. Encore Boston Harbor produced $194.7m, down $17.1m from $211.8m. Wynn Macau reported $335.4m, a decrease of $30.1m from $365.5m.
Billings highlighted strong operational discipline from teams in each region. Wynn Las Vegas and the Macau properties saw healthy demand amid slower market conditions. Las Vegas was negatively impacted by a hold rate outside the expected range while the Boston team managed through a strike that began in early September.
The Wynn Al Marjan Island team has made substantial progress with ongoing finishing works, including the interior fit-out of all guest rooms. Billings reiterated that the company remains on track for the planned September 2027 opening. This capital deployment occurs against revenue pressure in established operations but maintains the timeline for the new UAE property.
