Melco launched an app-based Players Club to replace vouchers and hosts with direct app engagement and full-funnel tracking. Kelly called it a top initiative through 2027 that adds transparency and efficiency. Winkler tied it to disciplined reinvestment aimed at preserving margins in softening Macau demand.

SCCG Take — The program gives Melco measurable data advantages and margin guard rails. Operators should watch whether competitors adopt similar rational approaches over the next one to two months or continue eroding profitability.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has introduced a new app-led Players Club at City of Dreams Macau. The program surfaced during the company's 3Q26 earnings call and is intended to deliver greater visibility on reinvestment, utilization and customer engagement. City of Dreams Macau Property President Tim Kelly called the initiative one of the company's most important through 2027.

Kelly told Inside Asian Gaming the club was built from a new foundation rather than a facelift. It migrates away from paper vouchers, redemption machines and heavy host reliance. Customers will handle their entire journey on the app, engaging directly without counters or intermediaries.

Visibility and Operational Efficiency

The app-focused design allows Melco to track the full customer funnel to its core. Kelly said this produces efficiency on the operator side while offering transparency and clarity for patrons. Integration work will continue over the next four to six months.

The launch aligns with physical upgrades already completed at City of Dreams Macau. These include a comprehensively renovated casino floor with new carpets, columns, lighting, tables, chairs, uniforms and food and beverage options plus new VIP areas.

Rational Reinvestment in a Competitive Market

Melco’s President and Director Evan Winkler stated the company is taking an appropriate and disciplined approach to reinvestment relative to player performance while putting guard rails in place to maintain margins. Winkler described Melco as a leader in rationality and voiced hope that competitors would follow rather than chase share by driving margins down as demand softens.

Kelly noted the program improves the customer journey and will be positively received. It coincides with Melco's ongoing evolution of the property to match contemporary patron needs, ensuring the casino floor remains the central element around which all other experiences revolve.
