Blask Index data for September 2026 shows bwin and Betfair demand rising several times faster than iGaming markets in Spain, Italy, UK, Austria, Germany and Ireland. The brands climbed to 25th and 42nd globally and now rank fifth and sixth in Europe. Other Entain and Flutter labels lagged or declined.

SCCG Take — The isolated outperformance signals brand-specific appeal that operators must isolate to sharpen competitive positioning and portfolio allocation in regulated European markets.

Demand for Entain's bwin and Flutter's Betfair rose steeply from August to September 2026 across six European countries: both in Spain, Italy and the UK, bwin in Austria and Germany, and Betfair in Ireland. The increases ran several times faster than national iGaming market growth and exceeded gains at all other brands in each operator's portfolio. bwin advanced from 41st to 25th on Blask's global list. Betfair moved from 70th to 42nd. In Europe the pair now stand fifth and sixth among more than 2,300 brands.

Country-Level Demand Movements

In Spain, bwin seized the top rank from Bet365 in August and widened the gap in September. Betfair passed Bet365 for second place. The two brands together now account for more than a third of Spanish market demand. Interest in all other brands combined fell roughly 4%.

Italy posted near-flat overall iGaming demand while the UK saw a decline. bwin climbed from 11th to 9th in Italy and Betfair from 16th to 10th. Both brands therefore captured larger shares. bwin reached second place in Austria behind the national lottery operator Win2day and held fifth in Germany. Betfair advanced to third in Ireland behind Paddy Power.

Intra-Portfolio Divergence

Sister brands under the same owners lagged. Flutter's Paddy Power, Sky Bet, PokerStars and Sisal, along with Entain's Ladbrokes, Coral and Eurobet, recorded either declines or far slower growth than bwin and Betfair. In the UK every one of those labels lost demand while the two highlighted brands gained. In Italy, Betfair overtook PokerStars and bwin narrowed the gap to Eurobet even as that brand slipped slightly.

The pattern held in the other listed markets where Entain's remaining brands hold smaller shares. As reported by iGaming Future, the September surge remained specific to bwin and Betfair rather than a group-wide or market-wide event. Operators will track whether these demand gains convert into measurable handle or GGR shifts in the coming quarters.
