Season 2 of Hellmuth’s Home Game, presented by Poker Night in America and sponsored by BetRivers, aired its fourth episode on CBS Sports. The no-commentary show, filmed at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, relies on table talk from Phil Hellmuth in an intimate cash game with pros and friends. PokerNews recapped the action from the game, spotlighting hands that favored Stanley Tang and Kelly Lucas while leaving Ethan “Rampage” Yau on the losing end.
Ethan “Rampage” Yau raised from the cutoff with K♠ 3♠, Charlie Hook called from the button, and Stanley Tang called from the straddle with 10♥ 9♣. The flop of K♣ J♦ 7♣ saw Tang check-raise to $6,000 with his open-ended straight draw after Yau bet. The Q♥ turn completed Tang's straight. He bet $11,000, Yau called, and the river K♥ improved Yau to trips. Yau bet $25,000 into the checked pot, but Tang called and won $87,225.
In a separate hand, Tang raised to $2,000 from the big blind with A♣ 9♣ and flopped a full house on 9♠ A♠ 9♦. He bet, checked the turn, and then check-raised the river to $10,000, winning another $28,375 from Hook.
Kelly Lucas raised to $300 with 7♠ 7♦. Tang called and Yau three-bet to $1,500 from the small blind with J♣ 8♣. The flop of 7♣ A♥ 10♣ gave Lucas a set, Yau a straight-flush draw, and Tang top pair. Yau bet $2,000, both called. The J♦ turn paired Yau but he remained behind. Yau bet $10,000, Lucas moved all-in for $21,225, and Yau called while noting he was “completely buried.” The river blanked and Lucas took the $53,150 pot.
Additional hands saw Dan “Jungleman” Cates win the episode's final $21,575 pot against Hellmuth after turning a straight draw and rivering the straight on a board that gave Hellmuth top pair. The episode maintained the show's focus on unscripted player interaction without added commentary.
