PokerStars Open Campione returns January 8-17 2027 with the Main Event buy-in increased to €1,250. Prior editions produced 2,423 and 1,582 entries with prize pools of €2.3M and €1.5M. The recent Sunday Million Live exceeded its €1M guarantee by nearly 12%.
SCCG Take — The higher price point tests sustained demand at a proven venue while recent guarantee-beating results indicate pricing room remains. Operators should track early satellite uptake as the clearest signal.
PokerStars will stage the third PokerStars Open Campione from January 8-17, 2027 at Casino di Campione on Lake Lugano. The Main Event buy-in rises to €1,250 from the €1,100 used in the two previous editions, according to reporting by PokerNews.
The venue has delivered large turnouts each time the festival has visited. The 2025 inaugural Main Event drew 2,423 entries and produced a €2,326,080 prize pool, with Romania’s Adrian-Sorel State winning €363,000. The event held earlier this year generated 1,582 entries, a €1,518,720 prize pool and a €200,640 top prize for Switzerland’s Elvir Nuhiu.
Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, noted the momentum. “We’re excited to bring the PokerStars Open back to Campione and start 2027 with this hugely popular festival. The success of the previous PokerStars Open Campione events, combined with the fantastic response to the recent Sunday Million Live gives us and our players plenty to look forward to.”
The Sunday Million Live, back for the first time since 2017, drew 5,213 entries across online and live flights and created a €1,119,853 prize pool. That figure topped the €1 million guarantee by almost 12 percent. Italian Ettore Santoprete, who had live tournament earnings of $10,063 before this tournament, took €98,200 after a three-handed deal.
A separate PokerStars Open festival is scheduled for Aix-en-Provence in the South of France from November 1-8, with satellites already running both online and live at the venue.
