Macau casino GGR fell 3.8% YoY to US$7.46B in Q3 2026 on a 7.9% mass baccarat decline. VIP baccarat was essentially flat at 0.1% growth while slots rose 18.8%. The government holds its MOP236B full-year forecast unchanged despite noted headwinds.
SCCG Take — Mass-market softness remains the binding constraint on quarterly results. Operators must track whether VIP stabilization and sports betting gains can offset this into Q4 without forecast revision.
Macau casino gross gaming revenue fell 3.8% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026 to MOP60.22 billion (US$7.46 billion). The decline occurred because a drop in mass baccarat outweighed broadly stable VIP baccarat revenue, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau as reported by Yogonet International. The quarterly total was also 1.3% lower than the second quarter.
Mass baccarat generated MOP33.61 billion (US$4.17 billion). This was down 7.9% from a year earlier and 4.4% from the June quarter. The segment remained the largest source of casino revenue with 55.8% of the quarterly total.
When slot machines are included, total mass-market gaming revenue declined 5.2% year-on-year to MOP43.31 billion (US$5.37 billion). Slot machine revenue on its own rose 18.8% year-on-year to MOP4.09 billion (US$507 million).
VIP baccarat generated MOP16.91 billion (US$2.09 billion). The figure was 0.1% above the level of a year earlier and 6.3% higher than in the previous quarter. Its share of casino GGR rose to 28.1%.
In the first nine months of the year, VIP baccarat revenue reached MOP52.38 billion (US$6.49 billion), an increase of 9.9% year-on-year. The DICJ’s method of calculating VIP GGR differs significantly from that of the concessionaires.
Outside casino gaming, football betting revenue increased 49.0% year-on-year to MOP152 million (US$18.8 million). Basketball betting revenue grew 4.8% to MOP44 million (US$5.5 million). The government has given no consideration to lowering its 2026 GGR forecast from MOP236 billion (US$29.2 billion).
