The Press Association is acquiring RAS Technology Holdings to complement Podium and expand into the Australian market. Expected close is February 2027 subject to Federal Court approval. The deal combines over forty years of racing heritage with RAS’s analytics and wagering technology across Australia and Asia.
SCCG Take — The integration creates expanded data coverage and innovation capacity for betting operators. Regulators and investors will track execution against stated data integrity commitments in key Asia-Pacific growth markets.
The Press Association is acquiring Australia’s RAS Technology Holdings. The transaction will complement the PA’s existing sports data business Podium and extend its operations into the Australian betting and wagering market.
The PA maintains a racing heritage spanning more than forty years and supplies racing and sports data, content and products to bookmakers, broadcasters and the wider industry through Podium. RAS Technology, founded in 1999 and listed on the ASX since 2021, holds established relationships with wagering operators and racing bodies across Australia and Asia together with capabilities in analytics, wagering technology and digital media.
Both entities maintain a central commitment to data integrity. Podium’s sports API and RAS’s trading services and Wagering 360 platform are positioned to deliver a complete solution for media, bookmakers and rightsholders. Customers will gain access to a broader range of products, wider international coverage and faster development of tailored services.
As reported by G3 Newswire, Emily Shelley, CEO of The PA, said: “The PA and Racing and Sports share a commitment to trust and integrity. The businesses’ complementary strengths and global reach will offer customers more of what they value: a wider range of data, deep wagering knowledge and coverage across more markets. Combined with The PA’s trusted heritage and Podium’s technology, this will enable us to develop new products faster and support the long-term growth of racing and the wider sports industry.”
Stephen Crispe, CEO of Racing and Sports, pointed to the shared focus on accurate live data to power the global racing industry. Josh Sparke, MD of Podium, noted the combination creates greater expertise, capability and reach to accelerate product innovation.
Completion is expected in February 2027, subject to customary conditions including approval by the Federal Court in Australia. The RAS board has unanimously recommended that shareholders vote in favour of the Scheme. Founders Gary Crispe and Robert Vilkaitis, who together hold or control approximately 34 per cent of the issued shares, have stated they intend to vote all shares held or controlled by them in favour, subject to customary qualifications.
Until completion, Podium and Racing and Sports will continue to operate as separate businesses. The combined group plans continued investment in technology to support expansion into new markets and long-term industry development.
