SCCG Take — This illustrates tribal operators using flexible venue tech to maximize space and diversify beyond gaming, though full revenue impact depends on execution of the unannounced event slate.
Wildhorse Resort & Casino has partnered with Gala Systems on a new convention center and concert hall. The features form part of a resort expansion valued at more than $100 million that began in 2024. The project also includes a new hotel tower that will double current capacity along with expanded dining options.
Gala Systems will handle engineering, installation, training and testing of its Gala Venue system. This technology transforms auditorium spaces and seating for performances, conferences, banquets, receptions and sporting events. Pre-programmed layouts allow changes in minutes rather than days.
Gary E. George, CEO of Wildhorse Resort & Casino, said: “Through this technology, we will book more performances, more meetings and events while enhancing our guests’ Las Vegas-style casino experiences. That process will be streamlined as the elevations, flooring and seating system are engineered into the project and can be programmed and operated from a tablet.”
Upon completion Wildhorse will be the first tribal casino to feature the flooring and seating system and one of the first venues in the United States to do so. The expansion includes more than 40,000 sq. ft. of convention and meeting space with a 16,500 sq. ft. concert hall capable of hosting more than 1,700 guests. Events will include national touring musical acts and headlining comedians. Walls and elevations can be configured for simultaneous meetings and events.
The full expansion is scheduled for completion in April 2027. Additional details will be announced as dates and events are finalized, according to Indian Gaming. While the technology promises operational speed, the source leaves undisclosed exact booking targets, total project costs beyond the stated threshold, and specific performance metrics once operational. These gaps warrant monitoring as the schedule advances, since actual utilization will determine whether the multi-use design delivers the projected uplift in non-gaming activity.
The deployment underscores a focused bet on adaptable infrastructure to support varied event types within the same footprint.
