SBC Summit Europe will take place at RAI Amsterdam from April 19-21, 2027. The gathering will draw more than 3,000 representatives from operators in regulated European markets, supported by an expanded program to secure participation from national and international gaming regulators. Originally announced in February this year, the event seeks to establish a dedicated forum amid ongoing regulatory and commercial shifts across the continent.
SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark noted the varied development stages and challenges in each jurisdiction. “Europe is not one gambling market. It is a collection of regulated markets, each at a different stage of development and each facing its own questions around taxation, advertising, player protection, changing consumer behavior, AI, technology and channelization,” Sojmark said.
“That is exactly why bringing these markets together is so valuable.” Sojmark added that regulation has become one of the defining issues, with different approaches producing a fragmented market. Some jurisdictions achieve strong channelization while others face offshore growth. The summit will use SBC’s partnerships with the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) and International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) to enable direct exchanges on what works, player protection, competitiveness of licensed operators, and keeping consumers in regulated channels.
Sessions will review established markets alongside recently regulated and evolving ones. Topics include channelization, taxation, advertising restrictions, player protection, affordability, black-market competition, licensing, compliance, new technology, compliance tech, payment systems, sports betting platforms, data, casino, marketing and changing player behavior. Market-specific sessions will allow deeper examination of individual jurisdictions.
SBC Managing Director Andrew McCarron outlined the aim to position the city as a recurring hub. “Europe needs a meeting place that reflects what the industry actually looks like today,” McCarron said. “That means putting regulated markets first. It means bringing the leading licensed operators from across Europe together. And crucially, it means making sure regulators are part of the conversation rather than discussing regulation without them.”
As reported by SBC Americas, the three-day program includes an exhibition area for suppliers and an extensive networking schedule connecting operators, regulators, policymakers, suppliers, affiliates and associations. If the elements align, the event could become a fixed calendar date for the European sector. Operators, regulators, suppliers and qualifying affiliates can apply for complimentary passes.
The format highlights the practical value of placing decision-makers in the same rooms to compare outcomes and refine approaches in real time.
