SCCG Take — The appointments integrate licensing expertise to drive post-merger commercial gains. Investors should track execution against the doubled group scale and debt reduction timeline.
Banijay Rights has expanded its Gaming & Gambling team with the appointment of Mark Woollard as Senior Vice President of Gaming & Gambling. The move follows the company’s merger with All3Media International and aims to maximise the distributor’s enlarged portfolio, according to reporting by SBC News.
Woollard joined the group’s Gambling division, Endemol Games, in 2013. He has since held senior roles including Director of Banijay Brands’ Global Licensing Division and Commercial Director of EndemolShine Gaming. Andreas Demetriou, who has spent three years at Banijay Rights, will report to Woollard as Sales Manager.
The appointment coincides with the hiring of David Christopher as Group Director of the firm’s Licensing and Merchandising team. Cathy Payne, Chief Executive Officer at Banijay Rights, commented: “As Banijay Rights embarks on this new phase, these newly strengthened teams – led by David and Mark – bring a wealth of experience to unlock and maximise our expanded portfolio across multiple markets.”
Payne added: “Ahead of Brand Licensing Europe (BLE), we are excited to see them generate new opportunities for off-screen growth and commercial expansion.”
The changes arrive as Fitch Ratings maintains a ‘BB-’/Stable outlook on Banijay Gaming while it issues €500m in new senior secured notes. The notes will fund the purchase of French gaming operator JOA Group. This continues expansion beyond the combination with Betclic and acquisition of Tipico.
The additions of Tipico and JOA are expected to make the combined group roughly double the size it was prior to the deals. Revenue streams will span Europe, with sizable amounts from core markets of Germany and France. Debt currently totals around €6.7bn but is expected to return to safer levels through anticipated organic growth.
Major shakeups remain probable across the wider group after the All3Media merger.
