Galaxy Gaming won Product Innovation of the Year for Monopoly Building Riches and detailed its Spotlight Spin shared wheel feature for table games. The company also reported Yahtzee installations in three casinos and pointed to five-year trends in community play plus rising cross-play between slots and tables. Brands create player trust and draw younger audiences.

SCCG Take — Established IP and slot-style mechanics can broaden table game reach, but operators need installation data to quantify the commercial upside.

Galaxy Gaming received Product Innovation of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards for its Monopoly Building Riches table games progressive. The win energized the team and framed the company’s latest product push.

Spotlight Spin Creates Shared Experiences in Table Games

Tyler Knight, director of product management for the company, said the power of the Monopoly brand is exceptional and it allows Galaxy to innovate through its familiarity. The Building Riches version features an animated Monopoly board where players build houses and hotels. Based on the number of properties players build, they can vie for prizes connected to the Spotlight Spin Feature.

“We’ve done something that hasn’t been done in the wheel space before,” Knight said. “Obviously, wheels are a tried-and-true gaming mechanic that you see across all verticals of gaming. But what we’ve done with Spotlight Spin is we’ve created a shared wheel spin experience, so multiple players can be eligible to have the spin at the same exact time. And what differentiates us from the competition is now there’s individualized outcomes during that shared experience.”

The Galaxy Spotlight Spin feature can be used in various table games, from blackjack to different poker variations. A triggering event allows everyone who placed a bet to be eligible for a prize based on a spin of the wheel. Knight said the opportunity for every player to win a big prize at the same time sets the company apart from other reels in the gaming space.

These types of games form part of a trend over the past five years toward community-style events in table games, including craps and roulette. Knight has noticed more players cross-play between slots and table games during the past five to 10 years.

Brands Build Trust Across Table and Slot Audiences

“You see more players playing both tables and slots,” Knight says. “Bringing slot mechanics, slot graphics-quality, and bonus game experiences into the table space is more interesting, more appealing to the younger crowd especially.”

Galaxy Gaming has installed Yahtzee games in three casinos. Knight said brands are very important across all levels, whether Monopoly, the company’s own IP like 100 Plus Three, or the Galaxy Gaming brand itself. Those brands create trust because they are familiar and loved.

“I like to say the most important brand that we have is Galaxy Gaming, and it all comes under that,” Knight said.

According to reporting by CDC Gaming, the emphasis on branded community mechanics reflects sustained operator interest in features that bridge traditional table play with slot-style appeal. One limitation in the coverage remains the absence of specific performance metrics or installation counts for the Monopoly Building Riches title itself.

Operators will watch whether these shared wheel innovations scale beyond initial placements and deliver measurable handle lift in competitive table pits.
