SCCG Take — Tribal operators are investing in physical upgrades to reinforce competitive differentiation and long-term guest loyalty in regional markets.

Tulalip Resort Casino has completed a three-year, 70,250-square-foot expansion and property-wide renovation. The project adds new gaming areas, refreshed bars, a renovated high-limit slots room and dining upgrades, as reported by Yogonet International.

The work was first announced in November 2023. Construction on the north addition began in January 2024. The expanded floorplan opened in July 2025, with simultaneous renovations to the rest of the property.

Expanded Gaming Floor and New Amenities

The north addition increased the casino’s gaming floor to 270,250 square feet and added 400 slot machines, for a total of more than 2,600. The new North Bar serves cocktails, wine and craft beer alongside a covered outdoor patio and smoking area. Metallic tribal storytelling spindle whorls flank the north and east entrances, which include large arched timber beams. The grand north entrance faces the Tulalip Amphitheatre and Seattle Premium Outlets across a landscaped courtyard.

At the center of the gaming floor stands a new 38-foot-tall, seven-ton Center Bar themed around symbolic sea life representing a Salish Sea bay. The adjacent 3,366-square-foot Center Bar and lounge provides bar-top gaming and seating for up to 60 guests. Renovations also refreshed the 4,000-square-foot high-limit slots room and several dining venues.

Cultural Design Rooted in Tulalip Tribes Traditions

The property-wide design incorporates the culture and traditions of the Tulalip Tribes through natural materials and colors drawn from the Salish Sea, coastal shorelines and surrounding forests. Blue and grey hues reference nearby waters and beaches. Cream tones with copper and gold accents evoke Pacific Northwest sunsets.

A new ceiling treatment features wayfinding elements depicting schools of fish travelling parallel to fishing nets, along with symbols for water currents, ripples, piers, nets, forage fish and jellyfish.

Marci Fryberg, President/COO of Tulalip Gaming Organization, said: “We are proud of the hard work and energy everyone has put into this project and to keeping Tulalip Resort Casino as the Northwest’s most distinctive gaming, dining, meeting, entertainment, and shopping destination.” Fryberg added that guests responded positively throughout the three-year journey and shared excitement as each phase was revealed. Swinerton Construction served as the building contractor, working with the internal project team, while Rice Fergus Miller was the architectural firm.
