Brazil opens strong with OpenBet

With the latest betting regulations being implemented this summer, it’s no surprise to see such momentum building in the Brazilian market as we move into the new season. One of the latest developments is a partnership between OpenBet and Grupo Silvio Santos (GSS), one of Brazil’s largest media and retail conglomerates.

OpenBet will launch a new sports betting and gaming brand for Todos Querem Jogar, which is part of GSS. This venture will include technology from OpenBet, such as its engine and player account management system, as well as features like BetBuilders and Managed Trading Services.

Putting integrity Infront of all else

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) welcomes its newest Associate Member, Infront. As a sports data specialist, Infront deals with solutions, media distribution, sponsorship sales and production around the world. The company joins around 50 companies and 125 leading sports betting brands already working alongside the IBIA.

Not only does Infront have several branches across different facets of sports betting, but with plans to expand in 2025, it’s more important than ever to have open communication with a network that facilitates fast and efficient assistance with betting-related corruption. It’s expected that Infront will deliver a significant portion of tennis products to the betting world next year.

Locker Live in a League of their own

A round of seed funding led by Hatchery Investments has raised $2m for Locker Live, which will enable the operator to launch its new Leagues vertical. The Locker Leagues will not rely on pre-season drafts and will include customisation options, such as league buy-in amounts, payout structures, scoring systems and choosing eligible NFL games.

The current platform has additional gamification features, such as NFL-based trivia which awards prizes for correct answers. These will often be simple, such as predicting which player will gain the most yards for a particular game.

The Dragon Train is being held at the station

Aristocrat has secured a preliminary injunction against Light & Wonder, regarding the issues between the Dragon Link and Dragon Train games. The initial claims stated that there were too many similarities between them, especially considering that a game designer had worked on the Dragon Link game at Aristocrat before leaving for Light & Wonder and contributing towards the latter’s Dragon Train title.

Due to this, Light & Wonder is prohibited from “any continued or planned sale, leasing, or other commercialisation of Dragon Train,” although the company has stated it disagrees with this action and “will file an appeal.”

UK says no way to social casino advertising

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled against five social casinos for their adverts, claiming the content is misleading in nature. The advertisements were shown on TikTok and implied that users could win real-world money or tangible prizes on their platforms. After an investigation, the ASA clarified that these could neither be won nor withdrawn from these apps in question.

The companies involved were Dataverse (trading as Gamehaus), Huuuge Global (trading as Billionaire Casino), Mobee Co (trading as Ignite Classic Slots), SpinX Games and Zeroo Gravity Games (trading as Cash Tornado). They will be required to change their advertising strategies to adhere with ASA standards.
