Bet Tracking Technology

Bet Tracking Technology

The recent trend toward legalized sports gambling across the United States has led to a plethora of commercials related to sports betting, some even featuring A-List celebrities. One commercial, in particular, stood out. It first aired on December 2, 2021, during the “Thursday Night Football” Cowboys-Saints game on FOX. This 30-second spot was sponsored by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and featured former NFL coach and current NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci. During the commercial, Mariucci revealed the game plan on how to gamble responsibly:

• “Set your limits, stick to them”

• “Track your bets”

• “Only bet what you can afford.”

After the commercial aired there was a lot of discussion about the “game plan” from your regular sports bettors to the members of the public who hadn’t even placed a bet yet. The common theme was a simple question: “How do I track my bets?” Many options came up, like “Do I use pencil and paper, or should I make a homemade spreadsheet?” Sportsbooks typically only provide customers with their completed wagers (if they won or lost) so there seems to be mass confusion about how sports bettors track their wagers in an industry that had been illegal and taboo forever.

That is the question we set out to answer as the momentum for legal sports betting grew. What if there was an app that would link your legal sportsbook accounts in one place? That kind of information, available in one location, opens all sorts of analytical possibilities. You would be able to answer a number of questions about your sports betting activities with confidence. Have you ever wondered what your record is for betting on a particular sport or even a certain team or the type of bet you make? How have you performed betting on underdogs vs. favorites?

Answering these questions, putting the information at your fingertips, is essential to betting responsibly. It is why we have dedicated over two years to developing myBetLocker, an innovative betting aggregation, analytics, and tracking app that pulls your historical activity from your accounts with the biggest names in sports betting.

Placing bets on our favorite sports is fun only when it is done within your limits. Put that game plan in place, take advantage of every piece of data you can, and bet responsibly!

myBetLocker will be available to download on both Apple and Google Play late summer 2023. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for more information as we prepare to improve the gambling experience while also promoting responsible gambling for everyone.

Responsible gambling tech fills a real gap sportsbooks won't: unified bet tracking and analytics across all accounts.

We're watching the industry mature. For two years we've seen confusion about basic bet tracking—pencil and paper versus spreadsheets. That gap tells you something: sportsbooks give you wins and losses, but not the data you need to understand your own patterns. Aggregation and analytics aren't luxuries anymore; they're table stakes for responsible play.

SCCG angle: At SCCG, we've watched this exact gap widen across our 150+ partner network. Operators know responsible gambling is regulatory gold and customer retention gold. We help clients understand how unified data—and the player behavior it reveals—becomes a competitive moat. This story validates what our partners are already building.
