The 2023-2024 NHL regular season is underway. The Vegas Golden Knights hosted their first annual Stanley Cup Title banner in a 4-1 win at home against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night. It was a part of an ESPN triple header and there will be many more fun NHL games throughout the year.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the odds out for the 2023-2024 NHL Stanley Cup. Who has some of the best odds to win it all this season?
Colorado Avalanche +850
Despite not getting past the first round a season ago against the Seattle Kraken, the Colorado Avalanche have the best odds to win the NHL Stanley Cup title this season. Colorado just won it all two years ago, but depth play could be a problem once again this season.
Yes, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantanen are by far their three best players, but others will need to step up. Gabriel Landeskog, the captain is not playing again this season due to a health condition. Alexander Georgiev will also need to be better this season between the pipes. Pavel Francouz is still the backup goalie. Head coach Jared Bednar has a lot on his plate this season.
Carolina Hurricanes +900
The Carolina Hurricanes reached the Eastern Conference Finals last season before getting swept against a red-hot Florida Panthers hockey team. Carolina has not been to the NHL Stanley Cup Finals since 2006 when they won it all against the Edmonton Oilers. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour is one of the best in the business.
Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, and Martin Necas are their three best players. Brady Skjei is solid on the back end for them. Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta are the goaltending tandem. Carolina plays in the toughest division in hockey in the Metropolitan Division. The New Jersey Devils, the New York Rangers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be tough for Carolina.
Edmonton Oilers +1000
The Edmonton Oilers have the best 1-2 punch and tandem in all of hockey in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins are great supporting pieces around them. Darnell Nurse will need to play better on the backend and Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner can’t be Achilles heels on this hockey team between the pipes.
Raymond Woodcroft is the head coach of this hockey team. The Seattle Kraken, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Vegas Golden Knights will be teams that can contend with the Edmonton Oilers in the Pacific Division in a top-heavy division.
