The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has pledged a substantial $5.2 million to modernize the infrastructure and training capabilities of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). This initiative aims to enhance the academy’s resources, ensuring that future law enforcement officers receive top-tier training.
Infrastructure and Technological Enhancements
A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to constructing a PNPA Alumni Association building, which will serve as an administrative center and dormitory. The modernization project also includes upgrades to the academy’s Crime Scene Plaza, which will allow cadets to gain hands-on experience in forensic investigations.
Furthermore, PAGCOR will finance cutting-edge firearms training simulators, improving cadets’ decision-making skills in high-pressure situations. The acquisition of crime mapping and predictive policing software is another major leap forward, equipping cadets with tools to analyze criminal patterns effectively.
Strengthening Emergency Response and Mobility
PAGCOR’s contribution extends beyond training. A state-of-the-art patient transport vehicle, equipped with essential medical equipment, will soon be handed over to the academy. The organization also provided additional support through a $38,500 grant to purchase a new service vehicle and 100 tablets to facilitate digital learning.
