Venezuela became accessible in 2026. Maduro was removed in January, and OFAC General License 57 opened the state banking system to international financial services in April — clearing the single biggest barrier to entry. SCCG LATAM has been on the ground since early 2026.
Roughly 6 million Venezuelans — about 46% of all adults — already wager close to $2.1 billion a year in deposits, almost entirely through domestic channels, at nearly Mexican per-capita intensity despite a fraction of the income.

Nothing moves without domestic banking rails, regulator access and local sponsorship. That is the reason this event exists: it is where those three are in one room.
Three bodies emit gaming licences in Venezuela, each with authority over a specific vertical, and each issues a SINGLE unified licence covering both physical and online operations. There is no separate online licence category — the distinction that catches most international operators on first contact.
SUNAHIP (Superintendencia Nacional de Actividades Hípicas) licenses horse racing and sports betting under a single unified instrument — the sports betting licence and the horse racing licence are the same legal document. For most international operators this is the licence that matters, and it is not where they look first.
The Instituto Nacional de Hipódromos (INH) runs the infrastructure under SUNAHIP’s umbrella — the book, the official online platform at apuestas.inh.gob.ve, the totalizator and the country’s racetracks. INH does not emit licences and does not set regulatory policy. Mistaking the operator for the regulator is a common and expensive first error.
The top five alone generate over USD 150 million in gross gaming revenue. This is an existing, licensed, domestic-dominant market — not a greenfield.

617 rooms and suites, 17 halls and ballrooms, and a convention centre seating up to 3,000 — in Chuao, the business district of eastern Caracas, about fifteen minutes from downtown and overlooking the Waraira Repano (El Ávila) national park. The expo runs across a single connected convention floor rather than a scatter of rooms — which is what lets an exhibition hall, a conference track and private meeting space sit minutes apart. The hotel opened in the late 1980s and is finished throughout in white and cream marble.
Simón Bolívar International (CCS) at Maiquetía is roughly 35 km from the hotel — a drive of about forty minutes up to the Caracas valley. Delegates on an early departure often use the group’s own airport property, Eurobuilding Express Maiquetía, five minutes from the terminal. Chuao itself is the eastern business district: banks, corporate offices and restaurants within walking distance.
SCCG LATAM announced it for Caracas in August 2026, then postponed it in solidarity after the twin earthquakes rather than run an industry event beside a national emergency. It returns as the Venezuela Gaming Expo. SCCG Management has spent the interval on the ground work this market actually requires — the three-body licensing structure, domestic banking rails and local sponsorship — because none of it can be entered from outside.
The hotel sits in Chuao, directly alongside Las Mercedes — the dining and nightlife district of Caracas, and where the city's best restaurants and bars are concentrated. Delegates can walk out of a session and into somewhere worth taking a client.
A VIP shuttle service runs from Simón Bolívar International at Maiquetía directly to the hotel, so the drive up to the Caracas valley is arranged rather than improvised. Details go out with your confirmation once your place is held.
The programme includes a VIP dinner, and private cars are available through the event to take delegates to the fine-dining rooms nearby. The point of holding this in Chuao is that the business of the expo continues over dinner.
