Celtic Narrows Gap as Dundee United Holds Hearts - Scottish Premiership

Tierney scores as Celtic win 4-0 against Kilmarnock

Rangers secure a third consecutive league victory by defeating Dundee

Kieran Tierney marked his first Celtic goal in seven years, helping the reigning Premiership champions narrow the gap on Hearts to seven points with a decisive 4-0 triumph at home over Kilmarnock. The left-back, who last scored for Arsenal in May, fired a 25-yard shot to extend Celtic’s lead six minutes into the second half. This was the 28-year-old’s first goal for Celtic since a Europa League match against RB Leipzig on November 8, 2018.

Johnny Kenny initiated the scoring in the 10th minute, marking his fourth goal in as many matches under the interim leadership of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney. Despite several missed opportunities by Daizen Maeda and a crossbar hit by Kilmarnock’s Bruce Anderson, Tierney’s goal gave Celtic an edge. The home team struggled to capitalize further but secured the win with late goals from Maeda and Arne Engels, who converted a penalty, giving the scoreline a more comfortable appearance.
