Wednesday's football tips: Go for first-half goals at 6/5 as Arsenal Women seek Euro spark

Arsenal’s defence of their Women’s Champions League crown has been a bit of a disaster so far and they can ill afford another slip when Real Madrid come calling tonight.

The Gunners have lost two of their three games in the revamped league phase after throwing away a 2-0 lead at Bayern Munich in their last match.

They should still qualify for the knockout stages, with some easier fixtures on the horizon, but tonight’s clash with the Spanish giants is another potential banana skin.

Arsenal Women vs Real Madrid Women

Real Madrid are unbeaten so far in the league phase but they needed a late Caroline Weir goal to escape with a 1-1 draw at home to Paris FC in their last outing.

That makes me think Arsenal could get the win they so desperately need and so do the bookies as BOYLE Sports price them at just 1/2. But adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 21/20.

We should see goals as BTTS has landed in all of Real Madrid’s European games so far and two of Arsenal’s matches.

Backing both to score pays just 8/15 tonight but adding on over 2.5 strikes boosts the odds to 5/6. Over 1.5 first-half goals is a bit better value at 6/5.

Wolfsburg Women vs Manchester United Women

Manchester United’s maiden Women’s Champions League campaign has been a triumph so far and they will be out to grab a fourth successive win in Wolfsburg tonight.

The Red Devils have claimed narrow wins over Valarenga, Atletico Madrid and PSG to leave them in great shape to reach the knockout stages.

Each game has been tight and it should be a similar story tonight against a decent Wolfsburg side.

The Germans have also beaten Valarenga and Paris St-Germain and gave Lyon a decent game in France, eventually losing 3-1.

So they could be worth a punt for the win tonight with home advantage at 6/5 with BOYLE Sports after thrashing PSG 4-0 in Germany.

Lineth Beerensteyn should start up front for Wolfsburg and she’s a decent 11/5 at Bet365 to add to her two-goal European tally this season.

Juventus Women vs Lyon Women

Lyon have a perfect record so far in the Women’s Champions League but have a tricky game tonight against Juventus on the road in Turin.

The French side are looking like potential winners, having taken down holders Arsenal, St Polten and Wolfsburg so far.

Juventus have also made a decent start though, with a defeat to Bayern Munich sandwiched by wins over Benfica and Atletico Madrid.

BOYLE Sports still make Lyon 1/8 hot favourites and that seems fair enough based on their form so far. Combining the away win with over 3.5 goals boosts their odds to 6/5.

Ada Hederberg scored twice for Lyon in their last European outing and the Norwegian is just 2/5 at Bet365 for another goal tonight. Backing her to score two or more boost the price to 13/8.
