Bo Horvat Unstoppable in Hot Streak: 'Possibly the Best Shooter in the World' | AmNewYork - SCCG Management

On November 8, 2025, at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York Islanders center Bo Horvat celebrated with defenseman Matthew Schaefer after scoring his second goal of the game during the second period against the New York Rangers. The goal tied the game at one apiece, marking Horvat’s sixth goal in as many games. The skilled forward received a pass from Kyle Palmieri and executed a wrist shot that beat New Jersey Devils netminder Jacob Markstrom, demonstrating his exceptional scoring ability. Horvat’s impressive form has been evident from the start of the 2025-26 season, with him recording 12 goals in the first 16 games, projecting a pace of 61 goals for the season. This remarkable start is highlighted by the fact that Horvat did not score his 12th goal of the previous season until January 5 and finished the season with 28 goals.

Horvat has astounded teammates with his lethal shot, scoring seven goals from mid-range, an area between 29 and 43 feet from the goal center, surpassed only by Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon. Islanders forward Mathew Barzal commended Horvat’s world-class shooting ability, attributing his success to skill rather than luck. Horvat explained that he is focusing on creating more shooting opportunities, averaging 5.8 shot attempts per game compared to just over four in the earlier years of his career.

Islanders head coach Patrick Roy praised Horvat for his confident shooting and overall strong performance. Historically, the Islanders have not seen a 50-goal scorer since Pierre Turgeon in the 1992-93 season, and Mike Bossy remains the only player in team history to achieve 60 goals in a season. Horvat’s current pace suggests he could join these ranks if he maintains his momentum.
