Sunday’s Football Tips: Chaos Possible in Old Firm Scottish Cup Rematch – SCCG Management

Rangers and Celtic face off for the second successive Sunday and sparks could fly at Ibrox in their Scottish Cup quarter-final.

Last weekend’s 2-2 Premiership draw in Govan was a thriller as the Hoops came from 2-0 down to keep their title hopes alive.

The spoils were shared that day but there has to be a winner today, with extra-time and penalties a possibility as Glasgow’s big two go into battle once more.

Rangers vs Celtic top betting tips

Last Sunday’s game only saw three cards dished out but there was a bit of tension at full-time and I’m expecting a busier afternoon for the officials in the rematch.

Celtic full-back Julian Araujo was at the heart of the post-match scuffle last Sunday and the Mexican was rather fortunate to escape a card during the game after committing a few fouls.

So it could pay to back him to go into the book today at 11/8 with Bet365 while Araujo is the same price to commit over 1.5 fouls.

Cup ties between these bitter rivals are often more combustible than the league encounters and we saw a red card when they faced off in the League Cup semis earlier this season.

Backing another sending-off today pays 5/2 at Bet365 who also offer a bumper 28/1 on both teams picking up a red card.

Port Vale vs Sunderland

Port Vale will be out to spring a massive FA Cup shock when they host Premier League Sunderland in the fifth round this afternoon.

Jon Brady’s men are propping up the League One table and look doomed to the drop after a disappointing campaign.

But the FA Cup has given their fans some much-needed cheer and they shocked Championship side Bristol City in the last round.

A repeat looks unlikely against the Black Cats who can concentrate on blazing a trail to Wembley with Premier League safety pretty much assured already.

So it’s no surprise to see Sunderland as 21/50 hot favorites at Bet365, who price a Port Vale win at 13/2.

Although Port Vale aren’t in great form, they haven’t conceded more than one goal in any of their last four matches. That makes me think a Sunderland win with under 3.5 goals might be a shout at evens in a Bet365 bet builder.

The minnows should be fired up for this one so backing them for most cards also appeals at 20/21.

Fulham vs Southampton

Fulham are another team who will fancy their chances in the FA Cup this season as they’re mid-table in the Premier League and also in a comfort zone.

They have home advantage today against Championship side Southampton and Bet365 make Marco Silva’s men 11/20 favorites.

Saints head to Craven Cottage in superb form after going nine games unbeaten in all competitions. That fine run has fired them into play-off contention in the EFL Championship but they might prioritize promotion over a cup run.

Southampton have kept just one clean sheet in their last five so Fulham’s forwards could get a bit of joy if they’re in the mood. Combining the home win with over 2.5 goals pays 21/20 at Bet365.

Fulham’s last four games have all hit double figures for corners and the Cottagers won 11-1 on that count away to Championship side Stoke in the last round.

That makes over 10 corners appealing at 11/10 with Bet365, who price Fulham -2 at 10/11 in the corner handicap.
