New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch — along with his siblings Jonathan and Laurie — is attempting to transfer his ownership stake in the team to his children’s trusts, according to an NFL memo released on Wednesday. This comes less than two months after Tisch appeared in the most recent batch of the Epstein Files that was released by the Justice Department.

“Prior transfers to these Trusts were completed pursuant to 2023 and 2024 Finance Committee approvals, the memo read (h/t ESPN). The Sellers now propose to transfer the entire remaining interests, totaling 23.1% of the Club, to the Trusts.”

Tisch’s name was mentioned 440 times in the documents made public in January. He had significant correspondence with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2013 in hopes of connecting with multiple women. He even invited Epstein to the owners’ box for a game at MetLife Stadium.

“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments,” a statement from Tisch read in January. “I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”

Tisch has not been accused of any crimes, though the prospect of transferring his ownership stake in the Giants creates uncertainty about his role moving forward. 

Epstein was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, including accusations of abusing underage girls, and was found dead in his jail cell in August of that year while awaiting trial. 

Tisch’s father, Bob, bought a 50% stake in the Giants from Tim Mara in 1991. The Mara family are the original owners of the team, dating back to its inception in 1925. Tisch became chairman and executive vice president of the organization in 2005. 

The Koch family purchased a 10% stake in the team in September.
