ANOTHER full midweek of Scottish Premiership fixtures and some others in the lower leagues.
Tuesday’s Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs already seems like a pivotal game in the title race.
Hearts’ title aspirations suffered a blow after losing to St Mirren, especially with key defender Craig Halkett now suspended following a red card.
This suspension adds to Hearts’ challenges as they will be without Halkett, captain Lawrence Shankland, and star player Cammy Devlin.
Hibs come into the game with momentum after a dramatic comeback win against Dundee United.
Trailing 2-1 late in the game, Hibs managed to score twice to clinch the victory.
Backing Hibs on the double chance market at 10/11 for a draw or a win is tempting, but the team’s new faces might react unpredictably to the atmosphere.
The preference is for both teams to score, priced at 20/23 with McBookie.com, as Hibs have several attacking threats and Hearts can be dangerous with Claudio Braga and their set-pieces.
Motherwell vs Rangers predictions
Motherwell have gained enough respect that they are ‘only’ 5/2 to beat Rangers at Fir Park on Wednesday, a stark change from previous odds for a home win.
This attractive price could interest punters and might hold value.
Motherwell have been praised all season and are particularly strong at Fir Park.
While Rangers have been performing well under Danny Rohl, including an 8-0 win over Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup, they have looked sluggish away, as seen in their last match against Hibs at Easter Road.
Motherwell plays fearlessly and consistently poses a goal threat, making them an appealing choice at this price with bet365.
Annan Athletic vs Dumbarton prediction
In the lower leagues, back Annan Athletic to defeat Dumbarton at evens with William Hill in League Two on Tuesday. This is the same league where a previous prediction was successful in the weekend’s lone game that went ahead.
After witnessing Dumbarton’s poor performance against Forfar Athletic on Saturday, it’s evident they might be the worst team seen this season.
Their supporters have clearly lost faith in manager Frank McKeown, and the team seems to be aimlessly heading towards a play-off spot.
Annan haven’t lost a home league game since September, coincidentally the last month Dumbarton won an away game.
