With Super Bowl LX just around the corner, the anticipation is building, even if the excitement isn’t at its peak. However, that will all change when the coin is tossed at Levi’s Field on Sunday evening.
Neither the Patriots nor the Seahawks were expected to make it this far at the season’s start. Both teams lack a superstar quarterback, making this Super Bowl hard to predict but intriguing to watch.
This is only the second Super Bowl in the past decade without Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady, sparking mixed reactions. Some fans welcome the change, while others are missing the ‘star quality’.
Amid all this, there are plenty of Super Bowl bets to explore this weekend. Below, we highlight three prop bets worth considering.
Super Bowl prop bets: Our four selections
Sam Darnold over 6.5 rushing yards – 1/1
Sam Darnold may not be known for his running abilities, but the odds of him gaining just seven yards on the ground in a game likely dominated by the Seahawks are appealing.
Darnold has increasingly utilized his legs as the season has advanced, especially since the Seahawks have opted for less aerial play. He averages over 11 yards per carry on designed rollouts, a strategy more frequently employed by the Seahawks in the postseason.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba under 93.5 receiving yards – 10/11
While Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the key receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, this game may not see many passes thrown his way. Darnold is expected to play conservatively, keeping the ball on the ground given what’s at stake.
In the Seahawks’ two postseason games, Smith-Njigba totaled 172 receiving yards, averaging 86 per game. Most of these yards came against the Rams, whose defense doesn’t compare to New England’s.
Leonard Williams over 0.5 sacks – 13/10
Seattle’s pass rush has been a focal point leading to the Super Bowl, with three players recording seven sacks each this season, showing their ability to pressure quarterbacks.
This poses challenges for Drake Maye, a quarterback who’s been sacked frequently this season. Maye’s offensive line isn’t strong, and he often holds the ball too long. A sack is inevitable, and Leonard Williams could be the one to make it happen.
