The World Cup play-off finals kick-off tonight and Italy’s trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina looks like the pick of four intriguing games.
The Azzurri are four-time World Cup winners but defeat tonight would see them miss out on a third finals in a row.
Boss Rino Gattuso will be desperate to avoid another disaster but it won’t be easy away to a Bosnian side who edged out Wales on penalties in Cardiff last week.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Italy top betting tips
Wales bossed possession in the semi-final and I’d imagine the Bosnians will also be willing to let Italy have most of the ball tonight.
Going for Italy corners paid off for me in their clash with Northern Ireland last week and the final tally was 12-3 in their favour.
Wales also won 9-3 on the corner count against Bosnia so Italy -2 in the corner handicap looks worth a punt tonight at 11/10 with BOYLESports.
Another takeaway from the semi-finals was how much Bosnia and Herzegovina put the boot in, committing 20 fouls and picking up four yellow cards.
Over 4.5 match cards tonight pays evens at Unibet while Bosnia -1 in the card handicap is priced at 15/8.
Sweden vs Poland
Sweden finished bottom of their World Cup qualifying group but can still bank a place in the finals if they beat Poland in Stockholm tonight.
It was amazing the Swedes finished below Switzerland, Kosovo and Slovenia in Group B given their squad boasted big-money players such as Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Anthony Elanga.
But their Nations League results handed them a World Cup lifeline and they grasped it as Gyokeres scored a hat-trick against Ukraine in last week’s play-off semi-final.
Beating Poland should be a tougher task after they held off Albania in Warsaw to book their place in the final.
This has the makings of a tight game and the half-time draw looks worth a punt at 11/10 with BetMGM.
Gyokeres’ tail will be up after that semi-final treble and the Arsenal star is 11/8 at SkyBet for over 1.5 efforts on target.
Czech Republic vs Denmark
The Czech Republic came from 2-0 down against the Irish to keep their World Cup dream alive and now face a final showdown with Denmark in Prague.
Ladislav Krejci’s late header on Thursday night broke Irish hearts before Czech keeper Matej Kovar emerged as the shootout hero with two saves.
The Danes had a much easier time in their semi-final, battering North Macedonia 4-0 in Copenhagen, but now have to make a trip to Prague.
The half-time draw also looks good in this game at 57/50 with BetMGM while backing most goals to come after the break pays 6/5 at Paddy Power.
Gustav Isaksen helped himself to a double in Denmark’s semi-final win so he could be worth a punt at 7/4 with BetMGM for a goal or assist tonight.
