Could Giants reunite with Odell Beckham Jr?: ‘We’ll just have to see where it all goes’

As they rebuild their wide receiver room behind Malik Nabers, the New York Giants are once again being linked — perhaps by romanticists and optimists — to a reunion with Odell Beckham Jr.

This time around, though, there might be more legs to such connections, as new head coach John Harbaugh has a history with the veteran pass-catcher, and went as far as to address his availability during the NFL’s Annual League Meeting on Monday down in Phoenix.

“The obvious, pad answer would be you look at every option, right? And if Odell’s an option, then we’ll be looking at it for sure,” Harbaugh began (h/t SNY). “And he and I do talk, we do text, we’ve maintained a really great relationship. He’s one of my very favorite people in the world, so it’s not like you don’t talk to guys about things like that, and certainly we have.

“We’ll just have to see where it all goes, what’s best for him, what’s best for the Giants. That’s the number one thing: what’s best for our team. Any player, if he helps you be a better team and can make you better, then you’re going to pursue that, but we’ll have to see where that goes.”

Nabers himself seems to be a significant proponent of bringing the former All-Pro back to his original team, commenting, “Let’s play together” on a recent Instagram post made by Beckham.

Beckham, who has often expressed a desire to get back to the Giants, also told Kay Adams at last week’s Fanatics Flag Football Classic that he would “love” to play with Big Blue quarterback Jaxson Dart.

“Weird you said that; that sounds great,” Beckham said. “If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that. Be excited about that. He’s a good dude. He’s young, and he likes to dance. I like all that. So he looks like he likes to have fun, if I get that opportunity.”

The 33-year-old remains unsigned after he was suspended for the first six games in October for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He has not appeared in a game since 2024 after the Miami Dolphins released him after nine games.

Beckham spent the 2023 season with Harbaugh and the Ravens, where he was the team’s second-leading receiver and helped quarterback Lamar Jackson win MVP honors. He was on track to become one of the best receivers in Giants franchise history after a blistering start to his career from 2014 to 2016, recording 288 receptions for 4,122 yards and 35 touchdowns in 43 games.

In the following eight seasons, he has had just 287 catches for 3,865 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Still, a veteran presence who has handled superstardom in New York could be a valued secondary option within the Giants’ wide receiver room. The organization lost Wan’Dale Robinson to free agency earlier this month, leaving the depth chart remarkably thin behind Nabers.
