Stones has faced ongoing injury struggles, recently exacerbated during England’s training. The 31-year-old encountered issues with a calf muscle on Thursday, prompting Tuchel to omit him from the Wembley friendly against Uruguay on Friday night. Instead, Fikayo Tomori partnered with Harry Maguire in central defense during the 1-1 draw.
