Saturday’s football tips: Japan striker Ueda 29/20 to hurt Scotland in Hampden friendly

Scotland are back at Hampden for the first time since their incredible win over Denmark and it’s safe to say tonight’s friendly with Japan won’t be anywhere near as dramatic.

That 4-2 win over the Danes booked a ticket to the World Cup and Steve Clarke’s men are now gearing up for group games with Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.

Japan are on a similar level to the Moroccans so Clarke will be looking for his players to prove they can compete with a top-class side.

Scotland vs Japan top betting tips

Japan head to Hampden in good form, having racked up wins over Brazil, Ghana and Bolivia in their last three friendlies.

All those games were on home soil though and the Japanese have gone three games without a win on their travels.

So tonight’s game is a tricky one to call, although Japan are 5/4 favourites at Ladbrokes and the Scots are as big as 11/5 with BetMGM.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this one ended level, which pays 12/5 at Ladbrokes, while the half-time stalemate looks a bit safer at 23/20 with the same firm.

Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda should lead the line for Japan and looks good at 29/20 with BetMGM to score or assist.

Wycombe Wanderers vs Port Vale

There’s a few games in EFL League One today and Port Vale’s trip to Wycombe looks the most interesting.

Wanderers sit just four points off the play-off pace while rock-bottom Port Vale are looking to pull off a great escape.

That means both teams should be going for the win so it should be a decent specatacle. BTTS looks decent at 19/20 with Bet365 while adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 6/4 at SkyBet.

Wycombe have lost three of their last four yet are still 3/5 favourites with Ladbrokes due to Port Vale’s precarious position.

The strugglers showed what they are capable of by dumping Sunderland out of the FA Cup so they could be worth a punt in the double chance at 6/4 with the same firm.

St Johnstone vs Queen’s Park

St Johnstone lead the way in the SPFL Championship title race heading down the home straight but face a tricky hurdle today at home to in-form Queen’s Park.

With just six games to play, Saints are bidding to hold off Partick Thistle and a victory this afternoon would send them five points points clear again.

But it won’t be easy against a Spiders side who have lost just two of their last eight games to ease their relegation worries.

One of those defeats came last weekend away to Arbroath though and St Johnstone are 2/7 hot favourites with 888Sport to come out on top.

Simo Valakari’s side have kept clean sheets in their last three so it could pay to back them for a win to nil at 21/20 with BetVictor.

Ruari Paton should lead the line for the league leaders and the former Queen’s Park striker is 5/4 at Bet365 to haunt his old club.

Super singles

  • Ayase Ueda to score or assist 29/20 BetMGM
  • BTTS and over 2.5 goals in Wycombe Wanderers vs Port Vale 6/4 SkyBet
  • Ruari Paton anytime scorer 5/4 Bet365
