Friday’s football tips: Palmer 11/10 to do some damage for England against Uruguay

England start their World Cup preparations tonight as Uruguay come to Wembley for an intriguing friendly.

Thomas Tuchel’s side breezed through qualifying, winning all eight games, and will be one of the favourites to go all the way in the summer.

They will probably need to beat South American opposition at some point if they’re to lift the trophy so tonight’s clash with the Uruguayans could prove useful.

England vs Uruguay top betting tips

With the Three Lions sweeping aside all-comers during qualifying, they’re hot favourites tonight at just 1/2 with Bet365.

Their form in friendlies hasn’t been as impressive, with Senegal claiming a 3-1 win at Wembley last summer, but it’s still hard to see Uruguay winning at Wembley.

They were thrashed 5-1 by the USA in their last friendly so I’m going to back England to be winning at half-time and full-time, which pays 11/8 at SkyBet.

Tuchel will be a missing a number of key men but plenty of players will be keen to press their case for a World Cup slot.

Cole Palmer looks set to get a rare chance to play in his favoured No.10 position at international level and the Chelsea man is 11/10 at QuinnBet to score or assist.

Partick Thistle vs Ross County

Partick Thistle have the chance to put a bit of pressure on SPFL Championship leaders St Johnstone by cutting their lead to just two points with a win over Ross County tonight.

The Jags won their game in hand away to Raith Rovers in midweek and will be out to move even closer to the summit before Saints host Queen’s Park tomorrow.

County sit just one point above rock-bottom Airdrie are need the points just as badly so it should be a keenly contested 90 minutes.

Partick Thistle are 4/5 favourites with BetMGM but you can boost their odds to 6/5 at Bet365 by adding on over 1.5 goals.

We’ve seen an average of 14 corners across the three league meetings this season and that makes over 10 corners well worth a punt at 11/10 with Bet365.

Raith Rovers vs Ayr United

Raith Rovers will be looking to bounce back from that midweek loss to Partick Thistle when they host Ayr United in the SPFL Championship tonight.

A dismal run of just one win in seven league matches has left the Kirkcaldy side sitting just five points clear of the relegation play-off slot.

But they’re also just two points behind fifth-placed Ayr and the Honest Men’s recent form has been even worse.

Scott Brown’s men are on an eight-game run without a victory in all competitions and if that sorry sequence continues tonight their promotion play-off hopes could be over.

With both teams in low spirits this could be a tough watch and the half-time draw looks good at 11/10 with BetMGM.

BTTS has only come up in one of the last six meetings and betting against both teams scoring tonight pays 17/20 with the same firm.
