Wimbledon Day 8 Tips: Kicking Off Week Two with Impact - SCCG Management

The first week of Wimbledon has met expectations, with exciting matches and surprising outcomes marking the opening week of the Championships.

The main action begins on day eight, featuring the second half of the fourth round matches.

Upon the completion of day eight, a full quarter-final lineup will be set for Tuesday and Wednesday. With several top seeds already ousted from both the men’s and women’s competitions, lower-ranked players are feeling hopeful.

The first matches start at 11:00 BST. Check out our tips for Wimbledon day 8 below.

Wimbledon day 7 tips: Our picks

Novak Djokovic 3-0 Alex De Minaur (23/20)

Novak Djokovic being offered at odds greater than evens to win a Wimbledon fourth-round match in straight sets seems almost too good to be true, but bookies are offering that this year on several top tennis betting sites.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has been impressive at the Championships, losing just one set in his first three rounds. Djokovic was particularly dominant in his third-round match against Miomir Kecmanovic, finishing in just one hour and 50 minutes.

De Minaur should be concerned, considering the only other time he faced Djokovic in a Grand Slam, he lost 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 at the 2023 Australian Open. Given Djokovic’s dominance at Wimbledon, a similar result on Monday is quite possible.

Mirra Andreeva vs Emma Navarro – over 22.5 games (11/10)

With many high seeds already eliminated from the women’s singles, both players have a chance to reach the final on Sunday.

Andreeva, though just 18, has been comfortable on the Wimbledon grass, winning all her matches so far without dropping a set. Navarro has also been strong, losing just one set and defeating two former Wimbledon champions.

Given their performances, this match should go three sets. Even if it doesn’t, two close sets are likely, covering the over 22.5 games bet.

Marin Cilic to beat Flavio Cobolli (10/11)

The Wimbledon story so far has been Marin Cilic’s resurgence. The former Wimbledon finalist has shown a return to form at age 36, despite a challenging draw.

Cilic defeated the fourth seed, Jack Draper, in round two and overcame Alexander Bublik’s conqueror, Jaume Munar, in round three. Such victories indicate top form.

Flavio Cobolli has had an easier draw, and the increase in competition could be difficult for him, especially on grass, a surface Cilic excels on.
