Reno Shooter Succumbs to Injuries, Leaving 3 Dead and 3 Injured – SCCG Management

Dakota Hawver opened fire on visitors and guests at the Grand Sierra Resorts & Casino in Reno, Nevada, on Monday, July 28, resulting in 3 fatalities and 3 injuries. Police responded and shot Hawver, who was hospitalized along with the other victims.

Perpetrator Dies from Injuries in Hospital

The injured are expected to recover or have been discharged, but Hawver died from his injuries on Thursday, July 31. At 26 years old, he acted with no apparent motive and had no link to the victims.

This is among recent U.S. mass shootings, including one by Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old Las Vegas resident who killed four people before committing suicide in a Manhattan skyscraper.

Tamura’s act occurred hours after Hawver’s. Hawver’s victims included Justin Aguila and Andrew Canepa, both 33, who were shot in the back before a bachelor party in Southern California.

Things Could Have Gone Much Worse for Visitors

Initially misidentified, the third victim was 66-year-old Reno resident Angel Martinez, killed in his car.

More injuries could have resulted from Hawver’s actions. Fortunately, many evacuated, limiting the body count. Hawver’s weapon misfired, but he eventually fired 80 rounds from a legally purchased 9mm handgun, raising concerns about dangerous individuals obtaining guns.
