Football Bet Of The Day: Thursday’s Goal Fest in Poland – SCCG Management

After our successful streak was halted at five due to falling one goal short in Norway on Wednesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day shifts focus to the European qualifiers, highlighting a goals-based selection in one fixture.

⚽️ Shakhtar Donetsk vs Besiktas
???????? Europa League Qualifying
⏰ Thursday 31 July, 19:00

Shakhtar aims to secure their place in the third qualifying round of the Europa League, playing ‘host’ to Besiktas in neutral Poland in a match where goals are expected.

Shakhtar Donetsk, the Ukrainian Cup winners, began their European journey by defeating Finnish side Ilves 6-0 on aggregate, with all goals scored in the first leg, leading to a tie with Turkish giants.

In the first leg in Istanbul last week, Shakhtar started strong, with Brazilian duo Alisson Santana and Eguinaldo giving them a two-goal lead in the first half-hour. New Besiktas signing Tammy Abraham scored his first goal for the team from the penalty spot before halftime, but another Brazilian, Kevin, restored Shakhtar’s two-goal lead in the 67th minute.

Former Benfica midfielder Joao Mario added another for Besiktas, but Kevin secured his second in stoppage time, putting Shakhtar in a prime position to face Panathinaikos in the next round.

Bet of the Day

Shakhtar’s last 10 European matches have averaged 3.60 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals in seven (70%), and five of the last eight have had goals from both sides. Since last season, Besiktas’s 11 continental games have averaged 3.91 goals, with nine (82%) having at least three goals, and eight (73%) seeing goals at both ends. Given the open nature of the first leg in Istanbul and Besiktas’s need for goals, another high-scoring game is expected in Poland on Thursday.
