The Scottish League Cup group stage concludes this weekend, with several Premiership clubs still having tasks to complete today.
Dundee is already out, and Livingston could be the next top-flight team to join them as they currently sit third in Group H before their final match.
A win against Kelty Hearts today would guarantee them second place, but since only the top three runners-up advance, it might still not be sufficient.
Livingston vs Kelty Hearts Betting Insights
Although Livingston trails both East Fife and Kilmarnock, these teams face each other today at Rugby Park, so a win would allow the Lions to overtake one of them.
Goal difference might determine which runners-up qualify for the last 16, so David Martindale’s squad needs a strong performance today, with their goal difference currently at just plus two.
BoyleSports lists the Lions as 2/11 favorites against League One Kelty, but you can enhance the odds to 23/20 by combining the home win with over 3.5 goals.
Livingston has only conceded two goals in the group so far, so backing them for a win to nil also seems promising at 21/20.
Kilmarnock vs East Fife
Kilmarnock leads Group H but still requires a home win against East Fife today to secure their last 16 spot.
Under new manager Stuart Kettlewell, they have achieved steady but unspectacular results, with 2-0 and 1-0 wins over Brora and Livingston, followed by a goalless draw with Kelty.
League Two’s East Fife is only a point behind, so a surprise win at Rugby Park would see them top a group containing two Premiership clubs.
Nevertheless, bookmakers don’t foresee this outcome, pricing East Fife at 10/1 while Killie stands as 1/5 favorites. Given Kettlewell’s side has yet to peak, I favor a Kilmarnock win with under 3.5 goals at 13/10 with BoyleSports.
The Rugby Park team has yet to concede under their new manager, so another win to nil for the Premiership side is appealing at 21/20.
Falkirk vs Spartans
Falkirk is at the top of Group A but can’t relax yet as a loss at home to Spartans today would eliminate them from the knockout stages.
League Two’s Spartans produced an upset by defeating Championship side Queen’s Park and also overcame Highland League Brechin, accumulating six points.
However, a win against Premiership newcomers Falkirk, who have eight points so far, would still be surprising.
BoyleSports lists Falkirk as 2/9 favorites, but you can enhance the odds to 11/10 by betting on a home win to nil, which looks valuable as Falkirk has conceded just one goal in the group so far.
John McGlynn’s team also scored seven against Brechin and three against Queen’s Park, so expect a few goals. Over 1.5 first-half goals seems worth betting at 21/20 with BoyleSports.
Ross County vs Partick Thistle
There’s a Group B decider today as Partick Thistle travels north to Dingwall aiming to maintain their lead over Ross County.
The Jags have a perfect record so far, with three consecutive wins under new manager Mark Wilson, but County can surpass them with a home win today.
The Staggies sit on seven points and enter this match in high spirits after scoring eight goals against Edinburgh City midweek.
Thistle has also netted eight times across their three matches, so prospects for goals in Dingwall are high.
BTTS pays just 4/9 at BoyleSports, and adding over 2.5 goals only brings it to 4/5. However, there’s more value in over 1.5 first-half goals at 5/4, while a half-time draw is also attractive at 5/4.
