Louisiana Gaming Regulators Target Illegal Sports Betting and Gaming Operators - SCCG Management

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has issued 42 cease-and-desist letters targeting illegal operators in the gaming industry. These enforcement actions were directed at unauthorized sports betting, iGaming, and sweepstakes businesses, such as Fliff, VGW, and Bovada.

In collaboration with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division, the Board issued these notices to offshore gambling sites, online sweepstakes, and iGaming companies circumventing state laws.

The following entities received cease-and-desist directives:

10. Kickr Games Pty Ltd and Kickr Sweepstakes
11. MW Services Limited d/b/a Wow Vegas
12. OC Media Holdings LLC d/b/a One Country
13. Papaya Gaming Ltd. d/b/a Papaya Gaming
14. Regal Technologies, LLC d/b/a SweepSlots
15. Rolling Riches Ltd. d/b/a Rolling Riches Casino

The Board is committed to further enforcement to ensure compliance with gaming laws.

This action follows closely after Gov. Jeff Landry vetoed SB 181, a proposal to ban dual-currency sweepstakes gaming and increase penalties for illegal gaming. Gov. Landry argued the bill was unnecessary and could adversely affect ongoing efforts to control illegal gaming.
