Mecca Bingo Enhances UK Locations with Light & Wonder - SCCG Management

Light & Wonder, a noted gaming content provider, has secured a significant agreement with Mecca Bingo to enhance the gaming experience at all 50 of Mecca’s UK locations.

### Key Developments

This collaboration involves a comprehensive hardware overhaul and the deployment of new gaming systems to boost performance, consistency, and adherence to regulations.

As part of this initiative, Light & Wonder will provide 850 new Equinox terminals and upgrade 645 existing T8 cabinets at Mecca. The T8 cabinets will receive Mk8i hardware upgrades, enabling support for larger content libraries and ensuring long-term operational efficiency.

Additionally, Mecca will adopt Light & Wonder’s Videobet platform, integral for navigating forthcoming regulatory shifts in the gambling sector, thereby smoothing the transition and aiding Mecca in meeting compliance standards.

### Enhancements for Players

The partnership not only modernizes infrastructure but also unifies the player experience. The update offers a consistent hardware setup compatible with games in the B3, B4, and Category C classes. Players can now experience titles like Rainbow Riches Blazing Lock, which are available on the upgraded machines and reportedly performing well.

Iain Graham, Slots director at Mecca Bingo, commended the project’s execution, noting Light & Wonder’s professionalism and attention to detail. He mentioned an observed revenue increase and expressed enthusiasm about future collaborations with Light & Wonder.

This announcement coincides with a robust financial period for Light & Wonder, highlighted by an $850 million acquisition of Grover Gaming’s charitable assets in the US and a reported $774 million in Q1 2025 revenue, marking its 16th consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth.

Wayne Ellard, vice president and managing director for EMEA at Light & Wonder, remarked that this upgrade provides Mecca’s venues with a strong foundation for the future and improves the player experience.

Early indicators suggest increased player engagement and revenue, positioning both companies advantageously within the evolving UK gaming market.
