Football Australia has resolved 10 months of uncertainty by naming Melbourne-born expert Joe Montemurro as the new Matildas coach ahead of the upcoming home Asian Cup. Montemurro, aged 55, leaves Lyon with a year left on his contract. Known for his successful career in Europe, he has previously clinched victories with Arsenal, Juventus, and Lyon. His coaching journey began over a decade ago in the W-League with Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City.
