The London-based club organized an event bringing players together to compete in an inclusive women’s football tournament, demonstrating solidarity with trans footballers. On Sunday morning, over 100 players assembled in north London for the competition, protesting the ban on transgender women in women’s football, which took effect that day.
Last month, the Football Association announced that trans women would no longer be allowed to participate in women’s football, following the supreme court ruling on April 16. The ruling determined that the terms “women” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 pertain only to biological women and biological sex, impacting 28 FA-registered trans women.
