Stephen Curry’s Status with Warriors Remains Uncertain – SCCG Management

The Golden State Warriors will have to play without their star point guard Stephen Curry for at least one week, after he suffered a left hamstring strain during the first half of Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.

This injury marks the first muscle strain of Curry’s NBA career. While the team has confirmed he’ll be sidelined for at least a week, they have not provided an exact timeline for his return.

“We’re taking it one game at a time,” said head coach Steve Kerr on Wednesday. “There’s a three-day break between Games 5 and 6, and some people are speculating he might be back by then, but we can’t afford to think that far ahead. Steph will return when he’s ready. Right now, all our focus is on the next game.”

Golden State is taking a cautious approach in managing Curry’s recovery. However, his absence has already impacted the team’s performance. The Warriors struggled in Game 2 without him, falling to the Timberwolves 117-93 on Thursday night.

Curry has been officially ruled out of Saturday’s upcoming home game, a pivotal matchup that might allow Minnesota to seize control of the series.

With Curry sidelined, the Warriors need others to step up offensively. Jimmy Butler contributed 17 points and seven rebounds in Thursday’s loss, although Jonathan Kuminga led the team with 18 points.

Golden State will be relying on its depth and leadership to remain competitive as they await Curry’s return.
